Heart of Yoga Workshop
Heart rate interval training
- 15 US dollars$15
- Rooted Soul Studio
Rather than only activating the parasympathetic aspect of our autonomic nervous system, it seems that what yoga may be doing is contributing to balance in our autonomic nervous system. Whether we start our yoga practice feeling “on edge” or low energy and sleepy, studies suggests that yoga can help. It can potentially bring us back towards balance by calming us when we’re amped up, and it can energize us when we’re dragging. Heart rate intervals place particular emphasis on voluntary breath regulation, as this is traditionally believed to influence cardiac and brain function. In a yoga practice, there are several ways in which a practitioner may voluntarily modify their respiration, which includes changing the rate, depth, and breathing pattern in harmony with body movement. Join on the mat to practice through continuous series of surka namaskar (sun salutations) and svadhyaya (self-study) to condition and refine our ability to regulate and function optimally. Energetic exchange for this workshop is $15 or discounted classes passes and memberships are available. Online or in-person.
